Lindsay, I love it! Always good to use stuff up and repurpose. And it really fits the challenge so well. Such a clever idea.

Just my colours Lindsay - lovely design too! Did you wet felt the loops with a resist whilst making the background?
You're a drummer? That sounds like fun.

Lindsay, I love it! Always good to use stuff up and repurpose. And it really fits the challenge so well. Such a clever idea. Thank you, Ruth. I started to think about doing something with tubes on a white background with coloured ropes running underneath which led to a kind of veins & arteries idea but that got a bit gruesome and then I came across the ‘in limbo’ bangle and that sparked the idea. I’d worked quite hard to get it so curly so I wanted to let it do its thing.

Yes, I just added 3 small squares of resist quite near the surface of the white background. I shaped them with a nice charity shop wooden knitting needle. The white is Falklands merino that I picked up on my last visit to World of Wool and it felted particularly smoothly and easily. I really like it and it reminded me of the recent discussion about bleached versus natural merino. Drumming - I play a big surdo drum in a community samba band - great fun and good exercise too. Their main colours are turquoise, bright pink & navy blue which are very much NOT my colours! But I admit I have enjoyed making felt and beaded jewellery to go with our performance outfits. Google Samba Pelo Mar if you’re interested.

It also looks like lots of fun if you go to the web page and look at all the pics in the gallery.

Lindsay I love your curly colourful twist and what a great idea to thread it through tubes. It's created a very 3 dimensional piece.

I bought a canvas for it yesterday and I think it’s going to look interesting when it’s mounted. My tiny studio will be open for the next 3 weekends as part of an open houses event across East Kent so let’s see if it gets any love from visitors. I will share some photos once I finish tidying up & get things on the walls.

A very cool idea Lindsay. now you are making me think. good look with the artist tour. Thanks, Ann. No doubt making us think is one of the main purposes behind the quarterly challenges. Zed’s challenge certainly prompted me to do something I wouldn’t have otherwise thought of, which is great.

I simply had to create something for this challenge: I love Zed's kebabs, was keen to try Lyn's seascape idea and Ruth's FME class gave me the confidence to add some stitching.
I can see flaws, but I had fun, thank you all.
