Today I received this very yummy looking Christmas pudding card from Lindsay. I love it! It is so neat and beautifully finished with beads. Thank you Lindsay. photos.app.goo.gl/3QSGgNBrA5ubCkyD9I though some of you who are not from the UK might like to know a little about how Christmas pudding features in our celebrations: it is THE traditional Christmas dessert and most families and restaurants still serve it if they are celebrating with a traditional Christmas lunch. It is made from dried fruit and spices and it usually cooking by steaming for hours. It can also be known as plum pudding (raisins were called plums centuries ago) and families often make their own pudding according to a passed-down recipe with each member of the family ensuring that they stir the mixture and make a wish. Sixpences or other silver coins can be hidden in the puddings. As a child in the 1970s I can remember the thrill of finding the 5 pence coin in my portion!

A great Christmas Pud. My aunt would put lots of coins in it to try and get us kids to eat it. I still won't eat it. I don't like Christmas cake either, much to my mother annoyance.
