Yesterday I picked up a scarf in a charity shop that is a very fine, fairly open weave cashmere. Here are 2 photos: one against a dark worktop & the other held up to the light. www.ipernity.com/doc/2373440/47161434www.ipernity.com/doc/2373440/47161436Before I have a go at wet felting a sample, has anyone got any experience of nuno felting woven cashmere? just wondering what to expect.

Great find! I have not tried felting woven cashmere. Looking forward to seeing the results.

I haven’t felted woven cashmere. However, I have sampled open weavesnthat don’t felt, so you’re smart to sample first. Also, not all companies and countries label correctly.

Thanks, Marilyn. I’ve checked out the label which appears to be from a legitimate Chinese manufacturer. Cashmere feels right in that it’s both gossamer light and warm but who knows? I will put on my experimental goggles and have a go at some point.
