Hey it's August everybody! I've been really busy at the store as this is tourist season. I did get a little bit of hand stitching done yesterday.

I don’t know what happened there to my text. Anyway, I’m back in my local harbour selling out of a beach hut this week & enjoying the unusual spell of consistently warm and sunny weather. (Whitstable, Kent, UK). I’m trying to share a link with quite a few photos but maybe I can only share individual photos so please bear with me ....

Thank you, Lyn. I’m having lots of technical problems this evening. If you follow the ipernity link it will take you to a picture of a boat. You can see the rest of the album - ie some of the contents of the hut, including the felt, by clicking on the small images on the top right (I hope!).

Thanks for the link, lindsay! I absolutely fell for the one with the two grey birds. You have so many beautiful pieces in there. Is everything in there yours? That actually is a really nice booth, lucky you!

Thanks for the link, lindsay! I absolutely fell for the one with the two grey birds. You have so many beautiful pieces in there. Is everything in there yours? That actually is a really nice booth, lucky you! Thank you, Stargazer. Yes, I made all the felt, took the photos & made the cards. The two grey birds are Sanderlings - very cute little sea birds which feed at the waters edge then run away as each wave comes in. Here’s another picture I did of Sanderlings doing just that. I base all my pictures on birds I’ve watched and local locations / conditions which is partly how I come to have a lot of photos. It works quite well in combination as the photos, although limited editions, are relatively cheap and easy to produce so I can sell them fairly cheaply and add more or fewer depending on how many felt pics I have whereas the large felt pictures take a while and are fairly expensive to make, frame & therefore sell. I’m wondering about re-doing the one you like as it’s an early picture & I didn’t then do as much needle felting of the detail (eg the eyes) as I do now and one of the beaks isn’t quite at the right angle, which bothers me. Having seen your recent eye transplant I’m sure you’ll understand what I mean!

Hehe, I do understand! As many told me in here - if it bugs you, better do something about it and give your mind some peace. I think it's lovely as is - the silk really creates a lovely effect for the waves washing in on shore. If you redo the beak or change anything, I'd love to see I once heard a pro artist say; If you keep seeing things you'd change in a work some time after it's been made it usually means you've improved your skills. I find that to be a good reminder, and makes me less dissatisfied with my own works and progress. .

I have said it before Lindsay but that is one great hut, a lovely venue if the weather is kind of course. How lovely to be there chatting to customers enjoying the weather we are having.
I like your photography as well as your felting. Good luck I hope you sell well.

Yes I like the thought via Stargazer regarding changing your work after completion. I do find myself doing that, such as the notebook covers I revamped because I wasn't satisfied with them, and I have changed other things too, so there is hope for me yet!

Thank you for that quote - I sometimes look at things I've done in the past then cringe a bit, so in the future I will think of the quote and be satisfied.
