It's fabulous Ann and the second photo proves how good it is - the cat looks so cosy!
I do like the spikes!

Love this! I'd love to make a cat cave, but my cats are a fair size so I'd actually be making small-dog-caves

I do have small cats but even the big ones seem to stuff themselves into the smallest of boxes.

I have no pets because I seem to be allergic to everything with fur or feathers. But that is really an ingenious invention. My granddaughter has a dog who likes to bury itself in the couch cushions. She burrows down in clothes if they are left on the floor. And she crawls up in tight places under furniture.

Well there you go time to make it a dog cave. Christmas is coming. You can bang it around in the dryer to harden it.

Is it wet felted to begin with? I will have to check out the blog post. I have not done much wet felting.

Yes, it is all wet felted. I did the spikes leaving one end fluffy and dry. than when I put them in the lay out I wrapped the spiky part in plastic wrap. You could do one without spikes and just put a pattern on it. its a good one to try to start because if it get a hole or there's a funny bit the cats don't seem to mind. Not like a hat you want to wear out.

My daughter informs me that the dog would chew this up, as it does everything else in the house. lol So I guess no dog cave.
