Purchased this adorable little spinning wheel from Trade me, (similar to Ebay) for $5.!!!! comes with spare bobbins so what a score. Its very old has such a lovely patina and I'm pretty sure its made from native NZ timber. I already have an Ashford but wanted the bobbins, they photographed it lying flat on the carpet so it looked like it was in bits. I was the only bidder. Lovely lady said it was her dear old mums wheel and she'd had a stroke, I told her it was going to a very good home and that I'd treasure it. I am a happy bunny.

Lucky you. Spinning wheels are hard to come by cheap.

We have heaps on them advertised here, a lot are listed when children are clearing out their parents homes, they usually say what you see is what you get and apologise for not knowing anything about them. So many different styles Ashford being the main ones as they are made in this country.

Here looms are easy to come by but wheels are small enough to be decrative.

Lucky you! I have no idea how to use a wheel or loom, but when I see what people make with them, I want them

Tess, can I say I am green with envy right now? I would absolutely jump at the opportunity to buy a wheel for that price... *sigh*
