I have moved a post I put in June's dose, I am always doing that!
Lyn, how did you close your vase wrap that you made a while ago?, a friend has suggested ladder stitch by hand.
Any suggestions from anyone?

Tracey - it depends on the edges of the wrap. These edges were cut and smooth so cross stitch was used with embroidery silk. These edges were 'organic' and they were overlapped then joined as invisibly as possible by catching the needle through the middle of the felt on both pieces - then seed beads were added for effect. You can see the join running from the top left diagonally down to the bottom right (old photo so not terribly clear). Here's another old one - from memory we think the closure was made by overlapping the edges and securing with short stabby stitches - not invisible and using coloured embroidery silk.

Thank you, lovely to see all those again, the blue ones are just beautiful. The orange goes so well with the blue.
I am going for overlapped straight edges, so I like the idea of little stabby stitches, thanks.

Ive done everything from a decorative stitch to invisible stitch to needle felting things closed.

I did little stab stitches. A row of two, one close to the edge of the overlap and one a little back from it, it all closed securely anyway

Wow Tracey - quite a reaction! Well done! Art and music can affect people deeply so the tears were a huge compliment.

Thanks everyone! I may post it once the recipients have received it. It is a wedding present to a family member from the person who commissioned it.
