I stitched 5 out of 6 backgrounds to my nuno landscapes. Now I need to get the foam core board to attach them to that before framing. Making progress at least

I started my commission piece yesterday, and because the thermometer read 29 but at one point read an eye-watering 32 degrees, my large desk fan was on, well away from flyaway fibres.
Woolfest was a blast as usual and my blog will be posted on 18th July.

Looking forward to the blog post about Woolfest!
Yes, it's a bit hot for working indoors isn't it? Just before I went to bed last night it had only gone down to 25C (77F) indoors and all the windows were still open!
I don't know if this is right but I've been told that fans will only cool the air if the temperature is under 25C. Above that air conditioning is the only answer...and how many British homes have that?

Thanks Lyn! LOTS of pictures taken.
I didn't know that about fans, but any port in a storm albeit a storm of sun, cos that's what it feels like!

Looking forward to your post about Woolfest Tracey! You need one of those water misters in front of the fan. That really works to cool things down. It's cool here. High is supposed to be 71 degrees F.

We are heading to high temperatures later this week. I thought it was when the humidity was to high a fan didn't really work. I am lucky enough to have an air conditioner in my studio. I have been working on decorating the new bags and closures for the bags without tales and loops. I tried magnets but it didn't work and resorted to large snaps.

A wet [not dripping] towel hanging in front of the fan will also create cool air, might need that in a few months when our frosts have gone

We cool ourselves by sweating (or glowing if you’re a lady) - the evaporation of the moisture from the skin is the cooling factor. As far as I know, a fan will always cool you to some extent as it helps the evaporation. The reason we feel hotter when it’s humid is that the moisture in the air means moisture on the skin doesn’t evaporate so quickly so the cooling system doesn’t work so well. 29 degrees in Quebec City today but not humid so it feels really nice!

Lindsay, lucky you with no humidity. We are start to head up with heat and humidity. For Canada day in Ottawa on Sunday it will be 34c/93f with a humidex or 44c/111f. people do not realize. it gets that hot in Canada in the summer.

We have a very hot weekend coming up, too. But not sure about the humidity, we’ve already had more rain this month breaking records.

We are having problems with vast moorland fires, the army has been bought in to assist. My daily dose was felting my picture and hoping the prefelt of the 2CV still looked vaguely like a car!

As long as it has a vague shape of a car, the eye will see a car. Doesn't need to be perfect.

My daily dose was felting my picture and hoping the prefelt of the 2CV still looked vaguely like a car! Looking forward to seeing it Tracey. I’ve been away for 3 weeks so feeling quite bereft of fibre - I’ve had to resort to beading instead though I have bought a little wool while here to take home & went to a great exhibition yesterday in Quebec City (“Hand Made”) about the relationship between craft and art that was really interesting and very inspiring.

As long as it has a vague shape of a car, the eye will see a car. Doesn't need to be perfect. As the brief was 'if you can incorporate their beloved 2CV that would be great but not essential' straight away I thought half of the car, right up to the mount would be fun. For my first ever commission, I have landed a very laid back, accepting customer.
