Thanks Marilyn and Ruth. I couldn’t resist the little canisters but when I saw them I wasn’t sure what I’d do with them so I hesitated slightly as I do not need extra clutter. As I took them home (resisting not being my strong point) I thought, doh, of course, felt them! I’m wondering how many unlikely items I can persuade myself to buy by saying ‘felt it!’

I have moved this reply to your posts about my building picture commission to June's DDOF. Ann suggested tacking things down, this is a good idea. I do however always start felting really slowly, so if for instance I have placed flowers with multiple parts, they seem to stay put. I was thinking of using prefelts as Marilyn suggested, as the client said whilst this would not be vital, it would be lovely if the recipients 2CV could be in the picture!! Of course I have felted oodles of cars up to now..... What is that saying? There is no such thing as a problem, only a challenge....time to stretch myself and try, why the heck not.

Just a thought, but when your fellow stall holders buy from you, at least they have a true idea how much work and time goes into your pieces.

Thanks for the good wishes on my art sale. What would you say is the worst thing to happen in Texas when you're trying to sell wool items? You guessed it. The A/C was out. I was desperately trying to remind people about how cold movie theaters are. I didn't do terribly - sold a few scarves & some soap. The bracelets that sold well last year fell flat. If nothing else, I've learned from the forum that you can't tell what will sell.

You just never know do you Elizabeth? If I knew what people would buy, I would be rich

Completely agree, Elizabeth. We all stand around looking for sales patterns influenced by the weather, the location, the day or date and everything else and my conclusion is that they are very difficult to find and possibly don’t exist at all! Glad you sold a few things and hopefully more than covered your costs.

I guess you just never know. Ruth has a good point. Ac out in Texas is a real drag. I don’t have to imagine I’ve been there. But you hung in there. Next time.

You put a lot of thought into it Lindsay! I just stand there, smile sweetly and hope someone will part with a bit of cash my way!
I sold a tea cosy at the weekend, so they are still selling sporadically, so that's fine by me.
The items I sell the most of every time are cards and soaps.

Who know what takes peoples fancy. Soap is pretty consistent. I would like to do cards. I think I would like to do some "originals" and some prints. I will have to find out how to get decent print cards done around here. I guess I will have to see if I already have that on my ever lengthening to do list, probably. LOL

Funny you should say that Ann about printing cards. Someone recently suggested it to me to bring prices down but I don't think I am keen at all. The original is too lovely and tactile to reduce to a copy for me. I may change my mind about that down the line who knows.
I love making cards and I seem to come up with many varied subjects and texture ideas. I have recently made some that are completely FME on a plain felted background.

My daily dose for the day was finishing 4 little bags that I will blog about later this week and what I hope will be a book cover for a little sketch book for my daughters birthday. They are all hanging from the apple tree in the breeze.

I have been dyeing background fabric for my landscape series. I hope they come out the color that I wanted. Always hard to tell until the fabric is dry and ironed.

They are all hanging from the apple tree in the breeze. They look great, Ann, I’m looking forward to seeing the final blog instalment. They must look quite tempting to the birds out there on the tree - hope you don’t find someone has moved in before they’re dry.

I will show you them tomorrow and the ones I have finished sewing. The bags are hanging quite low and it is sheltered in front of the house. They are only about chin high. they are dwarf trees.
