Thanks for posting this Ruth! The link to Arrowmont's workshop catalog is now live for the 2018 season. I'm thrilled they asked me back to teach a second time! This one runs June 3 - 9. (And for those looking for an intensive wet-felting only week, Lisa Klakulak will be there in July.) www.arrowmont.org/workshops-classes/workshop-details/?action=evrplusegister&event_id=341A bit more info: The class will focus on the interplay of wet-felting and needle-felting techniques to produce soft sculpture. We will utilize wire armatures for building complex and dynamic forms, which will be needle-felted over and then given a wet-felt finish. In addition, students will learn how to make wet-felted pre-felt sheets, surface design elements and finishing techniques. No previous felting knowledge is required but those students who already know one technique are encouraged to delve into the other. Demonstrations and structural problem solving will lead to independent exploration by the students. Students may purchase wool & supplies from Shana as needed but are welcome to bring their own as well.
