I 'googled' and 'youtubed' "Suprematism" but I don't totally understand it. However, some of the paintings I saw seemed to be a pleasing arrangement of simple shapes ... so that's what I did! I used 5 different coloured pieces of my daughter's hand-dyed scrim with matching colours of merino wool to make some nuno felt from which to cut the shapes that were placed on white merino wool to wet-felt together. Some of the shapes went a little wonky during the (very careful) felting but I'm ok with that. When the piece was dry I backed it with firm iron-on stabiliser then I defined the shapes with black machine stitching. It's approx 40 x 26cm (16"x 10").

Excellent Lyn! I don’t understand either, but yours is definitely pleasing to the eye.

It's supreme!! I think it goes very well with the examples I have seen so far. Haven't spent much time researching it yet though. You definitely don't notice much wonkiness of the shapes in the overall scheme of things.
