I've put this under 'other' because it's a mix of felt, stitch, paper folding, cord making, and general sticking together! If you're interested in any of the techniques, they are explained on this blog post

Wow Lyn I really admire your patience! A really sweet journal, gorgeous colours and stitching. What a lovely gift for someone who would appreciate the hard work that went into it. Good Christmas prezzies??

Nice book Lyn. I haven't gotten to reading blog posts this past weekend. Will have to do that soon so I can see how you made it. Thanks!

That's really nice, Lyn, great photos and explanation!
I've made similar books with paper and card, and thinking about it, I bought a kit I never used that I could try with. Did you use foam mountboard or cardboard?

Did you use foam mountboard or cardboard? Thanks Zed. I used white mountboard (not foam) the kind you would cut up to mount a picture. I've just tried to measure the thickness and it looks to be 1mm but it may be a gnat's whisker thicker. I bought an A2 sheet of it from 'The Range'.

Oh, mount like Americans say mat, i.e a frame over a picture? I'm thinking of the boards students use, probably because I saw someone ask about them recently

I always think of mounting board as the back or if frameless the board the picture is attached to and matt board on the front as more of a decorative thing. .

the blues and the circles look so good together great blog Lyn - I would call it mountboard too, that's probably because I'm on the same island :-)
