Well I went to post something in the September thread only to discover there wasn't one so Now there is. A Little late but we all must have been busy if we didn't notice. I have been spinning so here are the two I have been working on most of September. The first is over exposed so you could see the gold flecks.

Thanks Nada but it is the super bright tribal nylon form World of wool. It takes dye very well too.

Nice Ann, we must not have been all getting our daily dose of fiber

Nice Ann, we must not have been all getting our daily dose of fiber I took note of a good lesson you taught a while back: RUTH'S POSTIf I'm not actually making something, then I will spend time, every day, thinking about a future project or reading this forum, or reading a creative book etc. Shortage of time is no excuse - you can think creatively whilst walking to the shop, waiting for an appointment or doing the washing-up.

Yes, I do get a bit of creativity in each day, I just usually don't post what I have done here. You all might get tired of my class homework over and over again

I’m with Lyn. There is always something creative going on in my head while I’m doing other things. Even keeping!

I also either think about creating something, or make something every day. Whilst swimming I either think about wool or meal planning, it passes the time! It is a special friend's certain birthday soon, so obviously a handmade card was needed. The 'card' quickly evolved into an 8"x8" canvas, and I felted an Echinacea flower and machine sewed it. The grand plan was to machine 'write' Happy Birthday on calico and sew it onto the back to finish it. Well I did practice writing with my machine but unfortunately the writing turned out about as neat as my handwriting - not! So the calico is neatly sewn on but plain. Has anyone written successfully with their machine? Maybe I should have commissioned Lyn or Annie!!

Free machine writing shouldn't be neat - it looks good when it's a bit wonky! Much more interesting.
You have to be 'free' when stitching on felt, but you could use an air erasable pen on calico to write your message then machine over it.
Before you do free motion writing with the sewing machine, grab a pencil and piece of paper. Write the words you want to stitch onto the paper without lifting the pencil from the paper - any difficulties will soon be apparent and you can work out how to fix them. Also by doing this a couple of times you will feel more confident when you write the same words with the sewing machine.

Thanks Lyn. I did use an air erasable pen to write the word first. I guess I gave up too quickly, I'll have a practice sometime.

Just a little practice and you'll do fine. I agree with Lyn, wonkiness is the best!

Yesterdays Daily dose was working on mittens. I have them started but will see how they finish. I have a plan to get the thumb around to more in a palm position while starting with a flat resist. Does arguing with someone on facebook, about weather fulling shrinks felt, count as a daily dose?

Yes, I reckon your facebook altercation counts Ann. You were thinking about fibres!

I've done quite a bit of nuno recently, in prep for the well being classes. I thought I'd make a few samples on scrim of different ideas, like flowers, random positiong of swirls, strips of wool, using a resist etc so everyone can try a couple of things before we do it on silk or viscose strips.
I also made a longer scarf and a kind of shawl thing, or very wide scarf.
