That's really an intriguing process. I wouldn't think a stretchy lace would felt. Do you know what material it's made from? I've tried stretchy material but without success, but it wasn't lace. I love your samples especially the purple. Have fun with it!

Marilyn, it's pure synthetics. I think polyamide + elastane.

When you made your blouse with the cheesecloth and and prefelt did you use the sander? Also does the lace use the sander, if I may ask.

Marilyn, yes I was using a sander, both in making prefelt and felting on cotton. I also rolled the blouse while it was on the resist. Later I rubbed it between my palms. The lace felt requires using sander at the initial stage, while later you mostly rub it between hands. No rolling or tossing.
