Thank you all. I've just spent a whole 2 hours making twisted fringes without one of those expensive, fancy doofers.

It looks luxurious Judith - so much work but so rewarding when you have a scarf like that at the end of it all.

It's gorgeous, Judith Which loom did you get? Did you teach yourself weaving?

It's gorgeous, Judith Which loom did you get? Did you teach yourself weaving? It's a 24" Kromski Harp. I chose it because: it has metal pawls rather than nylon, it folds in half even with weaving in place, it's as wide as I can manage, but can still make narrow things, it comes with extra warping pegs to giving the option to make a warping board on the back of the loom. and not important, it's prettier. If learning from Youtube videos counts, then yes, I'm self taught. How's your spinning coming along?

Thanks for that Judith I made some really nice thin yarn to stitch with. I haven't set the twist or anything yet though, and wondered about plying. I need to watch the Craftsy class I bought. I think I can put my bobbins on the wheel to ply from (down the side). I basically need another life to have enough time and energy for everything

Sue McNiven has some good Youtube videos - here's link to her plying one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nai1CB5NYwY&t=3s
