Stargazer, you are a true artist. Congratulations. I could never make such a portrait.
And, of course we are all curious what is going to become from your needle felting bowl.

Added rocks from needle felted prefelt I made to get better color blending and a more natural look. It doesn't look like much work, but it took longer then I expected. Fun to see it slowly but surely come to life https://www.instagram.com/p/BVHASuzhOBP

Fabulous and very organic-looking, almost like an exotic microbe growing in a petri dish but I've probably got the dimensions wrong in my mind - what size is it btw?

Thank you both for your kind words. The size across is approximately the length of a US Letter size paper and about an inch tall.

I agree, either microbe or planet surface. Very cool effect with the prefelt rocks.

There's still so much more to do. The eyebrow, the eye right under, her nose , shading the lips, define her chin and hair on the other side. I wonder how it'll turn out in the end 😊 Just wanted to give an update of it so fare. I am in awe! This portrait is just amazing. I can't wait to see the end result.

Hi Carol and everyone else! Long time no see - life's busy. The portrait is unfortunately not done yet, mainly because I simply didn't know how to continue. I've since stepped up and have been working on it the last days. Currently figuring out what hairdo to go with. There's a million things left to do on this piece, but I see it as a project of learning, and not something I need to get done. I feel she needs a name. Do you have a suggestion? Also, I wonder if I should keep the background blue (this is the darkest hue I have) or would it be better to have the background black to prevent her blending in with the background?

It is looking really good. I think the black really makes the other colors pop but the blue is fine too.
