After a bit of playing around, I re-purposed my felt fish bowl into a 'sculpture'. It was fun to do!

That is an awesome sculpture! You can feel the motion of the school of fish swimming.

Wow that's fabulous, I can feel them rushing along! I loved it as a bowl too, how brave to cut it up

That is one clever idea Lyn, wonderful! I like how you haven't rounded or neatened the ends of the wire because it becomes the water. That will look great on a sunny windowsill, especially if you were lucky enough to have a sea view behind it.

Thank you ladies! It did feel a little rash to cut the bowl up as it still looked as good as new, but we don't develop unless we experiment.
Oh Tracey, I wish I had a sunny windowsill with a sea view ... one day maybe ...

A friend of mine is horrified at the thought of cutting any felt/artwork up, but I'm with you Lyn, sometimes you have got to be bold and experiment.

Love it and I think it's better as a sculpture. So much more movement and flow. I was thinking what a wonderful idea it would be for one of the ski chairs in my upcoming project. Too bad you aren't here to create a chair.

I agree with you Ruth - I loved my bowl when I made it but the sculpture is better.
I don't think I'd be up to the massive chair challenge. What an undertaking! Any design of mine that's any good often has more to do with luck than judgement.

It was a cool bowl but I like it better as a sculpture too. It really comes to life. Is it wire holding it together or is it thread?

It was a cool bowl but I like it better as a sculpture too. It really comes to life. Is it wire holding it together or is it thread? Each fish was wired individually so that I could weave wire through the loops on the back - like a very loose net. However, the wire didn't do the job completely and a few spots needed a couple of stitches but they didn't show amongst all the colour and stitching that was already there.

A labour of love as most things are.
