Good point, Judith. I thought of stubble too. Therefore this cobweb is denser than the usual cobweb scarves I make. I spread the tape of wool only about 40 cm wide (usually I make it 60 cm wide)

Judith what a lovely place to have a fair, warm and cozy ! And you can make a Scottish skirt for man out of that woolly mess Maybe you 'll need some more. @nada, I like those scarfs , nice color for man. I bought a fleece of a Wensleydale lamb, because i wanted to use that technique of layering those locks. I am not realy happy with it, because the first layer could be thinner, now I used a kind of superfine fleece and than merino. I didn't use the merino innersides and that was a pity because now you can see those pits at the collar. See pic: goo.gl/photos/tNcscYPtWdZ2VXrD9

You may be disappointed Viltmaaraan, but by looking at the photos I think the collars are pretty.

I forgot to comment Judith - what a nice place for a fair. I hate fairs in the open air: it is either too hot or windy or too cold. I have applied for a local one, ehich means standing outside all afternoon till 9 p.m.. Wishing the temperatures do not drop below zero.
Viltaamaaran, your collar looks great. Only you know where it went wrong but is is wearable and nice looking.

Thank you ladies for your comments. I prefer to make more "girly" stuff with lots of embellishments.

WOW, Viltmaraan!! That looks beautiful in the photos. Nada, I think those scarves are very elegant. Good on you about thinking about stubble - I'd never consider it. Unfortunately, here in TX it's seldom cold enough for a wool scarf. And NEVER cold enough for my hubby to wear wool. Sigh. I guess I get to keep it all to myself! :-)

Viltmaraan - From where I'm looking, I'd say it's a great success. Beautiful, I love it. As for the Fair, we were late in applying for a table, so the Village Hall was full and we were in the overflow area, namely the Village Pub!. We roasted whilst those in the Hall shivered.

You were right Ann. I judged too quickly. The weaving has become a lovely warm rug to snuggle under on cold evenings. Might have to make another as Peter commandeered it last night. flic.kr/p/PZQaUaMeanwhile:- my first attempt at coiled yarn. flic.kr/p/NHwqao

Judith I love that you have encouraged young boys to spin and those hats look so good, did you sell them all? and I am so pleased that you resurrected your weaving, you'll need to do another one now :-)
Your coiled yarn is gorgeous, I am ploughing my way through 1 kilo of Jonjo's alpaca saddle, only a 1/3 rd to go, and next year I am going along to art yarn spinning, complete respect for this lovely example of coiled yarn.
Nada I do like the man's scarf, it could almost have musical notes travelling along the length of it. I wove MBH a scarf last year but it keeps getting tugged on the velcro on his jacket so it's looking a bit sad, so a felted scarf may be the way to go.
Viltmaraan I would be so pleased with myself if I made those shawls, they are just beautiful.
