I appliqued silk onto calico to make this year's Christmas card image (I cropped the image then added a red border using a free editing programme called 'PicMonkey'). The wording inside the card will be: On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me A partridge in a pear tree.
Very nice ... but I'd rather have a box of chocolates!

Great card, Lyn! I bet your family really look forward to seeing what new design you come up with each year

I'm glad it made you smile Wolgelukkig!
Friends and family may appreciate the card Zed but my husband moans about the cost of getting them printed - he doesn't see the value in a greetings card because as far as he's concerned it's a ten second wonder: open envelope, quick glance, put on shelf, throw in bin.

Noooo! I'd much rather have your card than a box of chocolates any day Lyn! It is wonderful, I really admire your stitch work. My husband is a glance, shelf, forget kind of guy too....

I like cards, but I might not go as far as choosing one over a box of nice, dark chocolate mint creams. Or orange creams. Or maple... I love the card, Lyn.

Love your partridge Lyn. He's got such personality I don't send Christmas cards any more. Just the one I do for the card swap here.

I don't send cards anymore either, mostly for the same reasons your husband said, Lyn, but I save any handmade ones I receive, they certainly don't go in the bin!

I still send cards as it helps me to either: keep in touch with people that I don't see very often (geographical reasons) or to let special people know that I still think of them with fondness - people that have come and gone but were important at the time and maybe helped or changed my circumstances.

I love the little angry-looking partridge! Also love your rationale for sending cards, Lyn.

I like sending cards and getting them. I just never seem to get around to doing it.
