I haven't been here very much for a couple of months, so thought I'd prove I haven't been slacking! A hat and headband, knitted with some of my handspun. flic.kr/p/NXqdnK Some blended batts:- Merino/silk/Angelina and some of the spun yarn, first attempt at chain plying, so it's a bit overplied - but usable. flic.kr/p/NPgZotSome weaving - more a sampler than anything, but it's a long warp, so may become a small blanket. I'm learning a lot of "what not to do"! flic.kr/p/NX5XKB

All beautiful Judith. The hat and headband have such wonderful patterns, the batts and yarn are a scrumptious color combination and the weaving looks very professional to me.

Judith, all of your work looks lovely! The weaving is spectacular! Is that a measuring tape on the right? What weren't you happy about with the weaving? My frustrations are with the warping, never the actual weaving.
Love your handspun....so envious! I have to pay top dollar to purchase handspun from spinners. Spinning is not in my future.

Thanks Cathy. Yes, a tape measure, it helps me keep track of how much I've woven onto the cloth beam. Warping can be frustrating!!! I wasted a long warp recently - I used some of my handspun felted single and as I was a bit short, incorporated some commercial single which seemed OK, but shredded on the heddle. I now have something resembling a heap of spaghetti which, I suppose, could be put to use in the present challenge. Another lesson learned. As for the weaving, I was hoping to be able to make it into a jacket or gilet, but not sure how it will look as a garment. At worst, I can cut and sew to make a small blanket. I'm having fun and that's the main thing.

You definitely haven't been slacking. It looks like your well on your way with weaving. I love looking at what everyone is weaving on the studio looms when I go into my guild.
