I'd guess either ramie or flax/linen, though I'd lean more to flax because ramie always seems to want to twist, if that makes sense, even after I've dyed it, and yours looks a lot like my dyed flax. My natural flax has a shorter staple than the dyed stuff I was given oddly. They have a dyed avocado Flax on WoW, it could be that.

This fiber looks like hemp fiber to me. I have some undyed hemp that has the same exact texture.

Teri Berry!! Lovely to 'see' you again! Yes you're right, it is flax. I hadn't used flax before & I was super-concerned that this fairly hard, stiff, almost spiky fibre wouldn't felt well. But once on top of soft fibres & wet felted it made soft, silky, lovely, crinkly surface design. I must try it in a different way, maybe a higher proportion of the flax to wool fibre mix.
