How exciting Carole - a pretty wheel and a nice pile of fluff too. Which wheel is it? Now tell us, be honest; what did you say to the delivery man today?

Ha ha ha, 'ohh..... that'll be my wheel :-)' he hasn't a clue - just looks at me and tries a lopsided smile, I think they pick straws to see who'll deliver to me, it's only a small town and everyone knows everyone else so I may have a reputation I'm not aware of :-) Back to spinning, it's an Ashford Traveller, I have a feeling it's going to take some time to get the hand of this spinning malarky, I'm having another go today :-)

We're in a small town too and on first name terms with our postie who brings the local news along with the post. He has to keep in with us as we are his Unofficial local Parcel Office as everyone else is out at work during the day.

Congratulations on the wheel. I loved my Traveller, a great little wheel that went to lots of demos. You will be spinning like a pro in no time.

Good for you Carole, happy Spinning. I watched a lady demo and sell one at the wool show- was tempted to have a go - but know my weaknesses so stayed away. it cost a total of $1800 AUd after hey added extra bobbins and something else- I thought that was a bit much?? The Saori Loom is the same price... which is why I won't be buying one...added to which I have too many irons in the fire already. lol

Sounds like a very good buy Carole. Is there anyone running spinning courses in your area? I did a 2 day course when I first got mine; it saved a lot of frustration and was worth every penny.

Sue you do not need a special loom to do saori weaving. The looms they sell are 2 shaft looms. You can do it on any loom. Carole you need to increase the tension so you have more draw in when you ply. plying is fast. And remember to spin the wheel the other way.

Thanks for the great advice, and I'll check out the videos, I'm away on holiday for a few weeks, but I'll be on the case when I return :-)
