I was looking at Pam's beautiful silk bowl and went to a site that I am sure you all know of. Treenway. There were some similar bowls in their gallery done by various artists. They were all so lovely. Makes me want to try another sculpture. Silk is such a magical fiber.

Oh wow, their prices are unbelievable! $10.75 for 25g of hankies?! That's twice the price we were selling 80g of mixed silks. I should make a new post about our etsy shop.

Are they dyed? dying seems to double the price of everything. I find treenway expensive anyway. 100gr is 8.79 USD for hankies or caps at world of wool. Even with shipping it's going to be cheaper.

No, they're not dyed. Even paying one off shipping prices for 1 item from World of Wool is still cheaper than any places I've seen.

I was pretty astounded at the prices, but since I know nothing on this subject, I figured it must be right. I am only looking for the silk worm cocoons, so I sure did not want to buy a whole box of other things to get them. But, they were really beautiful.

I wish I'd got some coccons when I saw them, I think it was from World of Wool. They only seem to do degummed silk coccoons. I've seen people have Indonesian coccoons and they're lovely, really holey and lacey.

World of Wool is looking for a source of regular cocoons. I asked him last year and he said they were having a hard time finding one.

Oh, I'll keep an eye out. I've had the odd one in with carrier rods.

I think that for my needs, the etsy is probably the best deal. I am going to check out a local yarn shop first and then will probably go with etsy. I only need a few. This is a long term project, so there is no hurry.
