Just using up some bits and pieces of various yarns. Different weights and fibres to get some practice and see how they perform. Lots of mistakes, but that's how we learn. 21" x 15" CIMG7436 by Judith Robinson, on Flickr

Looks pretty good to me Judith! I know you used odds and ends but the colours look lovely together. How long did that take you?

Thanks Lyn, I tried to get a reasonable colour combo. It didn't take as long as I thought it might - about 16 hours, not counting the warping which took ages, as I got into something of a tangle! Another lesson learned. A VERY slow start for the weaving but once I got into a rhythm it grew quite quickly.

Sounds like a fast time to me for the size of the piece.
I've never got beyond the Spears Weaving Loom in the blue box!

the piece came out very well. Must have been good scraps. I Friend is using bag clamps to hold her warp in sections to keep it organised as she threads it. This kind CLICK HERE you can get them at most dollar stores and Ikea.

I really like this Judith, well done, it's such fun playing around with yarn you have spun yourself, you know what sprung to mind when I saw it was a table runner with colourful plant pots sitting on it, the colours look really earthy.

Thanks Carole, I'm having great fun. I like earth colours, perhaps because I'm a Taurus The yellows golds and browns are plant dyes, onion, fennel, eucalyptus bark. Next project is in the embryo stage.

I am intrigued, I am still waiting for my wheel, but my adventure into spinning continues when the postie delivered my parcel, I was so pleased I exclaimed 'oh my niddy noddy has arrived' I will say no more, postie walked away with a sideways grin :-)
