I want to take that so badly!!! But I doubt I'll make it. My DH and I have been talking about a short trip to the northeast this fall and that's in the other direction. However, he does like Portland and I've never been. I'll work on him.
In the meantime, if anyone sees any workshops in the northeast, let me know. I've already checked New England Felters and the only one that looks interesting is in August.

Thanks, Marilyn. I've already signed up to take Fiona's on-line class. If it goes well I'll consider that one. I think I like the in-person classes because the instructor is 'captive' as am I so there are fewer distractions.

Marilyn, I'm taking her Surface Design class. For some stupid reason, I'm nervous that I won't be able to keep up with the classes. Silly, I know.

Elizabeth, I've taken that one and really enjoyed it. You'll learn a lot of fun techniques. You'll be fine with keeping up. It's mostly all small samples with a final project at the end.

I did SDO too (I think a few people on the forum have) I really enjoyed it though have to admit I already knew at least 50% of the techniques she presented (I suspect you will be the same) but still found it really inspiring to see the directions the other students took with each sample and especially the final piece.

Elizabeth, I also took Fiona Duthie’s Surface Design class on-line, and it was money well-spent. Don’t worry about keeping up--I am sure you will do well!

The first class looks interesting but I think she might have left texture and entered sculpture. Fiona's class we a good one.
