This is my short report abut the workshop with Oksana Sokolova from Ukraine. We managed to organise her visit here in Slovenia. The workshop took place in Solčava, ten participants. Each of us made a blouse, using a unique technique, devised by the master. On the first day we were taking measures, calculating with regard to shrinkage coefficient, and drawing a pattern. The remaining two days were were laying silk and wool and felting. The main characteristic of this technique is using lots of silk fabric (15 metres fone one blouse!) and very little wool (30 gr of fine merino wool). I could never believe that such a small amount of wool can hold together this long yardage of silk. Of course, I cannot talk about the technology in detail, but here are the results. I am showing just my blouse. It's a pitty you cannot touch it: it is as thin as paper, very soft and with gorgeous texture. Ther ewas very little shrinkage and I think I got a perfect fit in the end. www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/42083402 www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/42083404 www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/42128122

Thank you Cathy. I don't think there will be many occasions for wearing this blouse. Once you live as a retired person you need very simple and comfortable clothes. My daughter, who wears same size is already looking at it so it will probably end up in her wardrobe.

So right, Nada! All those cocktail dresses and high heels in my closet are collecting dust. Time to donate.

Fabulous results Nada! I love the texture. I hope your daughter enjoys blouse. Yes, retirement doesn't require all thise fancy clothes. :-)
I can believe the shrinkage. When I made the wall hanging for my daughter in law I was amazed at the shrinkage -- more than 50% with silk gauze and very little merino wisps.
