Sorry to hear that the show wasn't a good one Sue. It is so hard to tell and as Galina says, it might be good one time and terrible the next.

yes Felicity, the networking was good and my one customer wants something else made so if she likes it I may get a second sale from it.I didn't want to take a formal commission so I said I will make a few in the colours she wants and she can choose.Easier and less stress for me that way.

Sorry it was disappointing, Sue There seems to be many fairs that don't have enough publicity/advertising, which is daft in these days. I often see pictures of places someone went, but hadn't heard of it before. Good luck with the informal commission.

That seems to be my problem with most things Zed. I never hear about things until it's over.

Thanks Zed, yes advertising in these days of social media isn't that hard.I was advertiser for our community garage sale for two years and we had over 3000 people visit us in a community of just 27 households,2 schools and a church who participated. All done on social media plus one local paper.
I did see a notice on the highway into the town but they were way too hard to read as one drove past.Didn't see any other signposting at all.

I found a 'Maker's Market' organisation and page on Facebook, they like to post photos of stuff at the markets, but don't say where it is, or whose stall it is, and I haven't seen info about the markets beforehand either. It's so annoying.

Usually there is a link to a website from the facebook page but not always. It is a pet peeve of mine that people advertise without locations. You have to search to find where something is taking place only to find out it 300 miles away or on a different continent. A lady got mad at me because when she asked to join my group I asked for her info. She sent me a link to her sales page but no where on the page was her name. When I questioned her she got really upset. It could have been anyone's page.
I just applied to go to the next one near me. I contacted through the last years website and they sent me the dates and form. I will do it with a couple of friends as t the guild I belong to.
