I've just spent 2 wonderful days spinning with Ruth Gough. Only 3 of us and all at a similar stage in the spinning journey. Under Ruth's friendly tuition, we all made considerable progress. I would recommend one of her courses. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming and Alan is on hand for any necessary equipment repairs, only charging for parts. One lady arrived with a very wobbly, rusty old wheel, and by the end of the first day it was working perfectly. We stayed in one of their cottages on the Elsecar World Heritage site and Peter enjoyed exploring the area whilst I was spinning. www.elsecar-heritage.com/ At last I have found a use for all that really short Cap Merino 'fluff' I bought from Woolknoll a while ago. Rolags and British longdraw make it very workable. Of course I couldn't leave without buying some treats, some really soft Corriedale, Shetland in two shades and a fast flyer kit for my Kiwi. Not sure how I resisted some of their gorgeous 'Humbugs', but I know I'll be making a return visit before too long. So much equipment to see and I think I've decided which loom I would like. www.google.co.uk/search?q=wingham+wool+works+wentworth&rlz=1CASMAE_enGB690GB690&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=655&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwiZpo7cxvfMAhWLJsAKHabqCd4Q_AUICCgD

Sounds like a good time and new skills are always a good thing. Enjoy! Spinning is on my to-do list, but it’s a long jump over the pond to Elsecar...

It is a long jump over the pond. You may require quite a few rocks and lily pads.

Sounds like a wonderful time Judith. Are you getting the loom right away or is it on your wish list?

I couldn't see a loom, Judith, just google results. I'm still jealous of it, though And the wheel!

I didn't take any of my own photos. Too busy enjoying and learning. It's a 24" Kromski Harp on my wish list.
