These are my first try using bulky pure wool that I had laying around. A bit rough but that is just me as a knitter. LOL I will felt them down and post a pic when they are done. Attachments:

My daily dose: hand-dyed felted wool pouch (all natural dyes!) Thinking about beading, hand-embroidery on this bright raspberry wool felt. Ya think it needs some toning down a bit? Small felted wool pouch, hand-dyed by catwycliff, on Flickr

Ann the slippers are not baby they fit me,LOL, but will shrink down on felting them- have been a bit sidetracked and didn't get them felted, but my daily dose still happened as I drafted out a vest pattern with my own measurements using Fiona Duthie's method and a pattern from Felt Magazine (Issue 10)by Phyllis Hoffman.Tomorrow I will begin laying it out - it just barely fits the table.

Cathy, the raspberry is great even though bright, perhaps some darker beads and stitching.

yes Cathy I took the lovely smiling Fiona's class on Shadow Felting (made a Capelet)and one on Damask felting where I made a cocoon. I thoroughly enjoyed Fiona's teaching style, her knowledge and sharing. As a Teacher Trainer(ret)I would give her 10/10. I also had a class on lighted felt sculptures with Fiona at the NZ Felting Convergence.
PS yes that Rockin Raspberry makes me smile.I made a hat with Navy and raspberry and my neighbour wanted it before it was even finished .LOL

Sue, I enjoyed Fiona’s teaching style in person and loved the garment I made in her class, a tunic. Raspberry and navy--great combo!

Cathy, I love the raspberry colour you got. Which natural dye did you use? Any mordants?

Halay, I used a combination of natural dyes, including madder and cochineal with alum and cream of tartar as mordants. BTW, the raspberry is bright but not quite as bright as appears in my photo!

I save the roots of Cleavers as I pull them ( Sticky weed is another name) .It is related to Madder and gives a good red dye. The darn stuff grows prolifically in Spring here but I did read that second year roots are best.I just wash and dry the roots and save them until I have enough...they are quite fine hairy roots.

I'd forgotten that cleaver roots make a nice red Sue, I seem to spend much of the summer pulling up the darned things!
