I read that in bed at about 2am on a sleepless night, thanks Marilyn - made me want to leap up & make something just to try it -I resisted, tho! definitely worth a try - even as a change to alternate between that & the leaning on it method. Anyone who tries it please let us know... if the loop/belt thing stayed central it would roll straighter I think, ...hmmm, any good ideas on how to make the loop stay central?

Hi Jill, I don't think it started centrally in this video, looping it snugly 2 or 3 times around the bundle and pulling perpendicular to the roll should help. On the tutorial thread someone (sorry I forget who) said they had seen 2 people (with a strap eaach) using this technique, that sounds like a good idea

Several years ago when I started my wet-felt journey, I saw women rolling large felt pieces with their feet! One sat in a rocking chair and rolled, gaining momentum from the rocking. I was amazed! That was at the Midwest Felting Symposium in Madison, WI.

I may have mentioned I’ve been taking weaving lessons, and so most of daily doses have been weaving threads and bobbin-winding. Have been working on a simple, plain-weave, with no pattern. Just adding as I go, which is how I prefer to do things. I am also learning a lot about yarns, which I’ve never before known much about, not being a knitter or crocheter. So here’s a photo of my plain weave in progress, now cut off the loom. flic.kr/p/zAugkEWhen I become more proficient in weaving, I hope to mix wet-felting with weaving. Have you ever learned weaving? Do you ever mix your techniques? (very late..) Oh you begun learning weaving ! great !!! On saori it's quickly satisfactorying I have this loomI use it to weave my handspun : exampleI also weave in circle : exampleI also like mixing techniques, but haven't tried for the moment to include felting

Oh, Aphee! You are a weaver, too! Beautiful work you have done…I have heard good things about the Kromski looms. Have never seen the circular loom. Very creative! It will be awhile before i attempt combining felting with weaving. There is a long way for me to go with the weaving. My big obstacle is learning to ‘dress the loom’ or threading the heddles.

Very nice, Aphee. I like that circle loom - it looks like just the size weaving that I could do. If I stopped finding other fiber, paper, cooking, reading, painting, ... things that interest me. aagh!

My circle loom is not a "true" one : it is just a metal square used for decoration (so about 1 €....). And it does the job !! @luswool oh yes it takes quite a long time to thread the heddles ... Usually, as it is for fancy handspun (weft), I can let the coton warp on it
