You (wonderful) ladies are such bad examples for me! I found a used Pfaff 1209 on Cragslist and bought it last night.!! I was thinking I'd like to use it to add bling & highlights to some of my nuno scarves, as well as other things that I discover here.
Has anyone machine stitched on nuno felts after fulling?
PS. I also have a weaver friend on the lookout for a drum carder!

I’ve done quite a bit of nuno-felting in the past but never machine sewed on it. But then I have always used silk with wool. For me, the machine stitching does not seem like the next step, but that’s just me. If anything, I might add hand-embroidery. I know that’s not what you want to hear--with your new toy--but just saying what I think. I guess I feel as though the nuno-scarves I’ve made are too delicate.
Wonder what others think about that…?

Yeah, I've done it a lot, nowt fancy, just straight, zig zag or hand stitching. All sorts of fabrics. My old machine never liked organza though.

Yes, machine stitching works great on any kind of felt, whether nuno or not. I think it is great for adding details. I personally love adding machine stitch to felt. And hand stitching.

I'm with Ruth, stitching over the felted areas of nuno looks great, where the felt is a little thicker it can create a quilted effect too. It can be a little bit addictive though, I find it hard to stop once I've started so have a tendency to overdo it.

I've stitched all sorts of felts with my machine and I like the effects you can get. If you have a very fine and/or fluffy nuno you might want to use a water-soluble stabiliser though, to stop it snagging in the machine

I just started doing more stitching on felt, but not on nuno yet. I'm still feeling my way around both hand and free motion stitching.
