I wanted to make some diary covers for some people who are helping me out (though I haven't said in case they never get done!), this is the first one, which I know I made on Sunday because Countryfile was on the telly Front: stripey felt front par Zedster01, on ipernity It's quite sparkly in real life, it has lots of trilobal nylon and other shiny fibres on. Not quite my cup of tea, but I've noticed lately what colours people make bee-lines for. I do like the right side though, so maybe those colours repeated and less defined would be more to my taste. This is the back, which is more to my liking: Stripey back par Zedster01, on ipernity

Very nice zed, and your signature rainbow. I'm sure they'll be appreciated.

Looks good Zed - I know what you mean about never getting anything finished. It seems really hard right now to get stuff done

I also like the back best, Zed. But anything rainbow is beautiful!

I like the back best too, I'm also a sucker for a bit of sparkle a former (male) colleague and eminent scientist, used t tell me the main difference between men and women is that women have a "glitter centre" in their brains, this is what prevents us from walking past jewellery stores and the like. There may be some truth to that

I like the back best too Zed. Yes... it is your signature rainbow... but different.

Ha Teri! I have no "glitter center". I hate glitter and not really much for sparkles or jewelry either. Once a tomboy always a tomboy.

Both sides look good, but have to admit I always like a bit of sparkle.
Teri, your friend may be on to something there.

If I were a child now I'd be catching tadpoles and bugs while wearing a semi-glittery Anna costume and light-up shoes. And climbing trees, throwing water balloons, challenging boys. Tomboys can glitter, too!

I like both sides. Maybe you could figure out how to sew it and make it reversible.

Tomboys can glitter, too! Don't tell anyone but I would still quite like to do most of those things now, I would like to build a tree house out of "found rubbish" too

I had the most awesome climbing oak tree in front of my house until a truck clipped the lowest branch and broke it completely off. Now it's a bit too hard to climb and I'm a bit older. But I still look up at it fondly.

Thanks everyone I like a bit of shine and shimmer more than sparkle. I hate glitter, it gets everywhere. The person who had that idea of sending glitter to people you hate is a genius. I think women are more likely to have the extra cone to see more colours, Teri, maybe that's why we notice stuff more and like 'shiny things' (though I say that loosely and mean colourful/the same thing in various shades, even browns etc).
