My daily dose yesterday was to sew almost all the buttons on the coffee cozies. we had a power outage for about 4 hours so with no TV or computer to distract me I did the sewing I had been putting off.

Good job you had daylight :-)
Elizabeth the shapes are lovely, I like how they change when felted and the bright centres make them pop :-)

Having just been to the Outer Hebrides for the Heb Celt festival and surrounded by weather, white sand and sea it seemed appropriate to share my latest fibre invention with left over felt from making spider scarves - a wrist cuff - the link is the blue sea, blue skies and clouds with a hint of rain

Jill, I love the organic feel of your pots. Carole, the wrist cuffs are great. Yes they remind of sea, sky and rain.

Jill your pots are lovely, I particularly like the one at the back the pale coloured one it looks like it has stone markings on it :-)

Lovely pots Jill. And Carole, your cuffs are very reminiscent of the sea.
I think the summer gets really busy for most people, I never seem to get half as much done in the summer as I do in the winter.

Nice pots Jill. Difficult to choose a favourite, but the purple one on the left stands out for me. I love purples.

Pots are so much fun! Nice work, Jill! And Carole--aren’t the Outer Hebrides just fantastic? Which isles were you on? Bet you needed the wrist warmers there!

My daily dose--I have been hooked on hand-embroidery lately…so relaxing. No particular direction, no embroidery hoop, just free-style. Slow stitching by catwycliff, on Flickr

Lovely pots Jill, good luck for the craft show.
Gorgeous colours on the cuffs Carole, they really do evoke thoughts of a stormy sea. May I ask how you applied the silver pieces?
I admire you patience Cathy, the thistle is very striking and the appliqué looks so delicate

Cathy the outer hebrides are just wonderful - so dramatic and soooo much weather!!! I was on Lewis and Harris, Lewis for the festival and the border with Harris for wild camping :-) I really like your embroidery work, I like the way lines can create a strong effect.
Teri I was waiting for someone to mention the silver - it's a little trick I found out about. I have foils (not sure what they are called) in silver, blue and bronze and what you do is use a glue, I use PVA (they recommend an expensive one) leave it to dry throughly then lay the foil on top of the glue. Then I put on greaseproof paper and hold an iron over the part I want foiled and then peel the foil off, it can take a few goes, and it doesn't stick to all the glue but I really like the bitty effect, more organic.

Thank you Carole - I will definitely have to give that a try! I love the combination of shiny metal with matt wool, there's something very elegant about it.

Nice pots, cuffs and stitching Teri, you can buy aluminium tops, I did look it up a while ago for suppliers here because 100g on etsy was a lot, but I couldn't work out if it was bulk ordering and then forgot about it
