Zed, ROYGBV is my favorite color!! I'm afraid that all the fiber I've been fondling is trying to get some socks started so I have a transportable project for the summer. It took me 3 tries to turn each heel!!! link BTW, these are toe-up socks. They are NOT a male anatomy-warmer. I always do toe-up socks so I can make them as long as I want without worrying about running out of yarn. I am a bit proud of myself with these because I did NOT try to match the shading of the yarn. I can be OCD that way.

The colors are great, Elizabeth! But not being a knitter, what are “toe up” socks?

Cathy usually/traditionally, I don't want to say normally. Socks are knit from the top to the toe. these are kit from the toe to the top. Elizabeth I love that style of sock they fit so well. They do look like Willie warmers in the picture.

Ann, thanks for setting me straight about the socks. I was thinking maybe there were no toes…to keep you cooler in the summer?

Beautiful batts Zed - how do you plan to use them (I recall you said you would be teaching Jo Public how to make felt in an earlier post)? Brilliant socks Elizabeth! I had to smile at the thought that most teenage boys have used a sock as a willy "warmer" at some point, I wonder what they would make of yours?

Thanks Teri Yeah, I'm doing the 'Make fest' at the Science and Industry museum, so I made the batts to take to that. Here's some orange/red ones Drum Carded wool batts par Zedster01, on ipernity
