Do any of you use these? I have found instructions for putting glue in the slot and then pushing the fabric into the slot so it is glued to the purse. Since felt will be rather thick do you think it will work.? Also, do you try to make your felt to fit the shape of the handle or cut it to the desired shape after you felt it?

I would cut it so your edge would be even. I would just try a scrap piece of felt first to see how it fit in there and then you'll know how thick it should be at those edges.

I've seen them for sale, there are some which are stitch on too, but I haven't tried any yet. It seems the kind of thing I'd mess up.

I think it's not that straightforward... I'd follow Ruth's advice and try a piece of felt without glue first to see what shape your felt should be.

purses are on my list of things to try too. I think you glue the sewn ones too. You can see the holes in the one above for sewing.

Thanks for the advice - I have not purchased one yet - I saw them at Joanne's (Craft Fabric Store In US) and thought they looked nice. It seems to me that it will difficult to get the felt exactly the correct width. Next time I am in the store I will pick one up to try.

I have seen them occasionally at thrift stores. Or just buy the old purse with the frame.

I've just burst out laughing Lyn, you know when you open a page and you really don't expect to see what you see - brilliant, the frog lends itself to the purse closure perfectly.
