Zed - yes I was thinking of taking the hat class - but since I have made a hat and made my own hat block I may not take it. The festival is about 3 hours away unless I wanted to leave home very early class starts at 9 am I would need overnight accommodations which would add $100 with meals to the class price of $145. I would rather spend the money on supplies, I think and continue to be self taught.

I know it may seem expensive Zed but they are not. It costs more at festivals because of the costs of running a festival. I was involved in organising one and it was a nightmare trying to find an affordable place to hold it. Individual classes you can rent a small place that doesn't cost much but for a large venue to hold multiple classes, vending space and have meeting areas and gathering spots it's hard.
