Aphee, looking forward to seeing this picture in felt. How are you going to get all the different shades? By carding wool?

Aphee, looking forward to seeing this picture in felt. How are you going to get all the different shades? By carding wool? Yes ! I dived into my stash and here is the batt : At first I wanted to re-create the landscape but still too hard for me so, as it's allowed in this challenge (if I well understood), I just used the colors more abstractly

The batt is great. Yes it's not a copy the picture challenge but a fining the colours in a picture to make what every you like challenge. The batt on its own qualifies. We want people to enjoy the challenges not be stressed out by them.

Thanks ladies for your comments and explanations. What I like also in this batt is the differents textures : cotton, mohair, silk banana, ramia, silk, merinos... Aphee, the batt is gorgeous and yes it qualifies. I can't wait to see how you use it. :-) I've already felted it but the results doesn't satisfy me for the moment, so you will have to wait to see the project... ;-)

great colours, isn't it strange when I look at your photo I see more blue than the range at the side - I wonder if our eyes see colours differently when they are in an image rather than in stripes

They do, Carole, they 'see' what they know/think is there rather than what actually is (remember that dress thing a few weeks ago?).
I had a cloudy sky photo recently, there were clearly patches of sky blue sky showing through, but when I checked on Photoshop, there was no blue at all, just shades of grey and some were browny grey!
