In this quarters theme and linked to my colour pallette I wanted to make a bag for a felting workshop I was running, I was trying out a new resist (a foam mat for camping) it worked a treat. My bag is linked to the purple tulip pic. It felt a bit boring so cut up my silk paper pic with the tulip theme in it and needle felted that on, then I needle felted on some dyed curly locks feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/dtx5xyzicbo_04wp8xjt.jpgAttachments:

Very soothing colors, Carole. How did you attach the handles? I have never made a tote but am thinking about it… And are your handles reinforced?

I am working on a post for a tote I just made that will include handles, lining, etc. If it rains today I will finish it - if not I will be outside in the Garden.

Thank you everyone, the handle is actually one long handle and I used the three layer method loosely rolled in bamboo mats until it became a tube then firmly rolled it, just stitched it to the bag using nylobond (a strong thread) and put a mother of pearl button on for a bit of bling :-)

Frances, your bag is lovely. Thanks for writing the instructions and giving all the details about the materials used. I particularyl like the part in which you describe how you shaped the bottom of the bag.

Thanks Nada - I wanted the bag to sit flat and the fold at the bottom corners and Plexiglas seem to work. I was going to use heavy cardboard but found the Plexiglas in the basement just waiting to be used for something.
