I just googled images of Amelia Island - Wow - it looks lovely!
Scarves or clutches? Which would be easier for you to make while you're away? Maybe that will decide?

Frances, Pennsylvania is cold in the winter. Scarves might be more useful. It's amazing how warm even a nuno scarf can be!

I would say scarves.

Yes, Lyn, Amelia is beautiful - we have an ocean front condo so I get distracted easily when working on a project but I do have a 6 foot island counter to work on in the kitchen.
Scarves do seem more useful and I have silk and cheesecloth packed and probably easier to make than a clutch.

Frances it looks gorgeous, what ever you make it'll have the magic of the coast line in it, keen to see what you do.

Hello Frances, I am thinking a clutch bag would be nice... I made a clutch bag and decided I would get more use out of being a IPad cover..penn. Is a very long trip solo... Please be careful.. What at is the temperature on Amelia island during June and July... It sound like such a beautiful place.. I wanted to stop their on our way home from Florida but it did not happen... Here is a photo of my clutch. feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/lubac23gczvonsr49rrc.jpgAttachments:

I like a scarf better, more versatile.

The temperature at the beach will be around 80 degrees most days - not too hot but warm enough with the ocean breeze. I am not driving to Pennsylvania - I will fly from Jacksonville FL to Harrisburg PA and then it is about a 30 minute drive to Lancaster PA - I have found a couple of shops in the Lancaster area that sell roving so I am going to try and do some shopping (will be only the second time I will have actually seen and touched something before I purchased it)- maybe Saturday am - Welcome Dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, Wedding 2 p.m. Saturday &. Wedding Reception 5:30 p.m.and then Sunday 11:00 a.m. Brunch. The shops are closed on Sundays

80F isn't too hot?! It's been about 19/20C here the past few days (68f) and is burning hot! I know having 90% humidity makes it feel warmer, but still, I can't imagine being out in 80F for very long, it kills me when it's that hot here.

My 'touch of fiber' in the next few weeks may be on the hoof. I'm spending 2 weeks in Peru - cruising the Amazon and then up to Macchu Pichu. I'm hoping to find some fiber (no, I won't take scissors to shear some locks from an unsuspecting llama). Temps for the trip will range from the low 40s to the 80s, with a lot of rain.

Zed, an ocean breeze can make a big difference. And 80m feel positively cool if it's been 110.

My recent impressionist creations; thanks to whoever gave me the info. on dyeing over plastic cups. I want to do more of this now I'm getting the hang. I've hand rolled the hems on the 'irises' and the jury is out on whether it's nuno or no-no for the 'poppies' which look much better than in the photo. No, really! flic.kr/p/sdFp5Fflic.kr/p/sdJso2
