Elizabeth - The locks I sent you are from fleeces I bought from an ecological farm in a neighboring village, so I can't tell you what the sheep are named (although I bet they do have names). They are all pure Gotland breed, but you can clearly see the variation between individuals. The lambs are born black, but turn grey, and the tips get sunbleached during the summer. My sheep are cross-breeds, including Gotland.

Here is the result of some "experimental felting" I did with raw fleece from my sheep. I used the winter-fleece sheared in the spring (which is of lower quality than the summer-fleece sheared in the autumn) and tested felting it without using any carded wool. With a bit of sewing afterwards I patched the pieces together and now I am ready for sunny spring days (although it did snow again yesterday...).

That looks really fun Zara - and a perfect place to sit in the spring. We're supposed to get some snow tonight.

Thanks, Zara. it kind of looks like you have an Eskimo face-planted on your bench. :-p
Snow - ugh. We're into spring here in Dallas - should last a day or two and then we'll be seeing 90-degrees and more until November.

That is stunning work, Zara & I suppose quite useful where you live, how warm & cosy it would be to sit on. The model is super-cute too!

Fortunately, it was warmer yesterday and today so a lot of it is gone. :-) Yeah! We do our best to miss the snow, but didn't do well this year.
