Felt a bit sad after reading her “goodbye” letter. Looks like she has plenty of interest in her stock.

How sad that her creativity has been overtaken by the commercial aspect. The best advice my husband had when he was starting his own business was "stay small". This, from a man who had a large and successful business.

I completely identify with why she wants out, the part about 'the strain caused by the relentless self-promotion required to make this business thrive. ' The thought of that is is a massive barrier to me, I don't have half the energy I need now, and have no desire to waste what I do have with that side of things.
I did feel terribly sad when I saw the name 'kneek', I don't know her, but we've been flickr contacts for about 6 years. Such a shame she'd want to give up felting rather than giving up making a business out of it.

It is a lot of work. I don't want to do that much work for it. it stops being fun. Its sad that she will give it all up but perhaps she went into it a s business and not as a love. Someone once said figure out you 2 favourite things to do. do the second favourite for a job and a first favourite for yourself.

Wise words there Ann.
It's hard to keep something fun and enjoyable if you have deadlines and repetitive orders.
