I went for it! I started adding all the things I wanted, there was about 25 things and it came to less than £19, so I added some more , you know just to make the postage worthwhile

I looked at ordering some Kap merino (some extremely short fibre merino that comes in batts) a while back but was put off by the cost of postage. Maybe I should take another look (I don't need much encouragement to go fibre shopping!)

Teri I am going to place a large order (Kap Merino mainly) to them at the end of February. You can join and we spread the delivery cost. Then I'll send it to you by Royal Mail. Let me know if you are interested!

I should have thought of that too, Felicity, that's a good idea.

Yeah, I did it last week, I can't remember what the total weight was, probably 3.5 kilos, so there was some spare for the price/weight band.

I enjoyed looking at the Woolknoll site but found some of the terminology confusing, such as the arctic fox (we know it’s not FOX!) and Stone Mountain sheep and other such mysteries. There would have to be a really huge sale for me to place an order and spend the time necessary to determine what I’d be buying and what it would cost. And then there’s the postage factor to the USA.

I was going to do a joke about Stone Mountain Sheep being from Atlanta, Georgia, but it was rubbish They are Stone Sheep, and they are actually found on Stone Mountain in BC en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_sheepYeah, I'll definitely ask here next time before I do an order, Felicity.

Hi Zed If it makes you feel any better I just looked up the Royal Mail costs for sending a 3.5 kg parcel second class, have a guess at how much it will cost.... go on....how much would you pay? Would you believe.... £13.75!!!! Parcels over 2kg are considered "medium" regardless of dimensions. What is the world coming to when Woolknoll can ship a parcel across Europe for 17 Euros (£12.73) while RM are charging more to ship it a few hundred miles within the same country.... grrrr!!! Anyway, just wanted to let you know you hadn't missed out on this occasion. If you can get your parcel below 2kg, sharing shipping may be a winner but I don't have that much self restraint when it comes to fibre shopping. After a very happy hour mooching around Woolknoll I have a basket totalling nearly 400 Euros and 3.5 kg so unless Galina (AKA Felicity) says she only wants a couple of kg of fibre I think we will have to place separate orders this time... They have some really weird stuff on there... I liked the "games players", music boxes to you and me, and a fab collection of buttons.... oh it's so hard to resist.... Thank you for pointing out what a bargain this is at the moment!

Thanks for the info. on Stone Sheep, Zed! Tickles me that the BC sheep’s wool is being sold in Germany, unless Germany also has Stone Sheep…as I said, a mystery.

I think there are stone sheep in Europe too. It is just the primitive wild sheep I thought. Mountain sheep is what we call them here

Ball Brause - I do not understand why you would buy one - they are like what we used for sprinkling clothes before they were ironed - I think they are called Laundry Sprinklers - A little metal head with holes in it stuck in a cork that you would stick into an empty coke (soda) bottle. Easy to make one - take a plastic cap and use a nail, needle or drill to put tiny holes in it and then screw it back on your bottle and you have a sprinkler - instructions are here www.instructables.com/id/Water-bottle-sprinkler-cap/ if you need them.

Frances they are easier to use then the coke bottle you can squish the ball part and drop it back in your soapy water and it sucks up the water again. I have a different one that is called a seedling sprinkler and it doesn't work as well . not sure way the design is very similar. for rugs and big things like that a garden water jug with the sprinkler head seems to work well in the videos I have seen.
