www.knitmap.com/This site has a list of states and provinces in Canada and the US. You can look up yarn and fiber stores by major city or by state/province. This should help people who are travelling to different areas and want to find a store to visit.

Thanks Ruth. Very cool. Great for when you're traveling. It's too bad they don't include a mileage area you can search.

zed or if you live in a metro area such as Atlanta - "depends on traffic and time of day" :-)I live 30 miles north of Atlanta and it can take me 35 minutes middle of the day - early mornings and after 4 p.m. an hour or more

Funny Zed, Americans say that is a Canadian thing. We always measure distance in a time.

Zed, it depends on what info you want. In LA, 15 miles can mean 2 hours travel. Frances is right on about distance time and place. It all depends on all three. In the case of the knit map, it would be how far I'm willing to travel to a shop or if there are any in my area.

I'd have thought Canadians measure in weather, Ann How far is it? Oh, aboot half as thick as the snow here. Yeah, *I* know that, Frances and Marilyn that's why it always seems so weird to use it as some kind of measurement, especially in citys.

All, I'm going on a trip in August to Peru - Macchu Pichu. I've scoped out some likely fiber selling spots, but I thought I ask this august forum if anyone knows of good places on Peru for finer. It appears that we'll have the most free time in Lima and Cuzco Thanks in advance!

I'd be tempted to take battery clippers in case I met an alpaca or two, but it's probably not recommended I know we have someone here from South America, but can't remember where.
