Nice vase, Frances That's interesting about glycerine, I often bring leaves home then find them brown and crumpled weeks later

Marilyn - my son had been working in Tokyo for about 3 years and decided to take a sabbatical year in Sapporo to study and improve his Japanese and at the same time, take advantage of their long ski-ing season. Judith, your son is very lucky. Sapporo is beautiful. Is he still in Japan? My son loves Japan but didn't want to work there. I don't think his wife would move back either. She loves California. We will get to see her mother who is coming for six weeks for the birth of our grandaughter. It is so hard having family spread out across the world.

He's in Switzerland now Marilyn. Having family around the world does make for some useful holiday destinations.

Our grandson married a beautiful young woman from Japan and he has learned to speak japanese. We now have a beautiful great granddaughter, Mitsuki, who is Japanese/American.
Thank you for the comments on Beech Tree project. Everyone loved the combination of the felt and leaves. Our club puts a design in the foyer of the Public Library every week and it was suggested that I use this design when my turn comes up in February - So I guess I have 'Killed two birds with one stone'.
By the way Glycerin can be purchased in the pharmacy department of Walmart or other retailers.

Frances, our son's wife is Japanese and they are expecting their first child in March. A little girl! Mitsuki is a pretty name. Our granddaughter will be Lisa which evidently is used in Japan as well.

Just had to pass this along - On Wet Felting on Facebook someone asked what is a resist? One person gave a good detailed explanation but another person gave a 'tongue and cheek' answer that is so funny and so true -
"It means that you have to resist buying wool in every single color, leaving your job to spend every second watching you tubes and experimenting."

My daily dose was to make a liner for the small egg basket. It did not go as planned. I got it made just not the way I wanted.

Great liner for your eggs! So you have chickens as well as sheep? That’s a nice and respectful way to treat the eggs. ;-))
