I use the dog groomer combs when I need to card small amounts. I don’t yet have a real carder machine!

The ones that were very clean and curly probably came form a coated animal and were then hand picked out maybe getting 1/3 in locks and then the rest would be sold as fleece or carded into batts or top. Hand picking and washing and dying locks is what makes them so expensive.
