You're a busy lady Zed. I will have a bunch of dyeing to do after my travels.
I've been making more business cards. Easy, but fun.

I will mostly be organizing fibers this week, as I have to get my supplies out of the kitchen/DR area for the holidays. There are several bins full, plus my tabletop baskets filled with assorted embellishments, including buttons, yarn, twine, and small tools. Then I still have a few small felted presents to make, which I will squeeze in later this week.

Zed you are a busy beaver. I am cleaning up so I can see what I need to do for a show this weekend. I have 3 hats that need finishing work.

I think I just made it sound like I'd done more than I had! Judy, I'm sticking to protein fibres so I can just use the acid dyes. I use a Classic carder to card my batts, in case anyone's interested or has insomnia, here's a few videos: feltingandfiberstudio.com/2014/05/02/using-a-drum-carder/

I finally did the fourth quarter challenge. Post tomorrow on the blog about my "land art" if I can ever get the photos on to my computer. My SD card isn't reading correctly

It looks good, Ruth I finished up dyeing. Dyed soy top is gorgeous, even the crimped fibre looks nice. My hands, however, look terrible!

Not sure what to do with the plastic either?? Right now there is some hanging in the kitchen over the chairs and my husband asked if it was part of the Christmas decor (which is nonexistent at the moment). Do you mean the bubble wrap? If so, I don't think it should be stored in an airtight container because it never dries completely (some water always get trapped in some of the bubbles). If you're lucky enough to get your hands on a cardboard box with dividers, the rolled up bubble wrap is stiff enough to stand upright. It also makes it easy to see at a glance the size of each piece of bubble wrap because of it's height and circumference. Tape the flaps so that they stand up and make the box taller, then any really wide pieces of bubble wrap can be supported in the corners.

Good idea Lyn. I don't use much bubble wrap anymore though. I was talking about thin painter's type plastic. This idea would probably work for that too though.

I forgot to say that you can make the dividers easily with pieces of cardboard and just cut slits. The pieces on the bottom have slits from the top down. The pieces on the top have slits from the bottom up.

yes all my really big stuff like my jacket resist are rolled up and in a tub. It all the hat resists, they can be big, and wrist warmers and birdhouse. and the painters plastic. I am thinking of stinging a line against one wall and putting clips along to hang the plastic. I need to move stuff to make that workable but I think I can do it. I need more clear bins too. I will wait until the post Christmas storage bin sales.

A box like that would be useful for loads of things! I managed to get a couple of decent photos yesterday (so many came out blurred because it was so dark), here's some dyed soy fibre:

Zed - it looks like you got some great colors. I love the grays. Did you use black dye for those or gray?

Thanks, Judy, Ruth and Ann I used black dye, but did thin it out a little too, to get lighter shades. I saw something Judith dyed a while ago and loved it so got black, but hadn't used it till now.
