Yes, a good idea Frances. For anyone who doesn't want to make their own, I also saw these on the FB Wet felting group:- www.etsy.com/shop/ShoeLastsCheaper than many and you only need buy the sizes you want. Some companies only sell the whole range.

Thanks for the link Judith and Frances. I've seen other instructions about how to make them online, but I would rather save time and buy them if it wasn't outrageously expensive.

I thought they were wooden at first zed, but these will keep the postage down. I may treat myself.

Oh, I am definitely ordering the shoe lasts rather than fool around with duct tape and get myself in trouble. So reasonable, too! Thanks for the links, ladies! This Irish fellow sure had a good idea--he only has to carry four “items” in his shop and wait for the orders to roll in!!

They do look like a great buy. Wonder what shipping to Canada would be.

Only around $8 for USA…shouldn’t eastern Canada be about the same?

Yesterday, I bought a pair for me and a pair for my sons’ size (fortunately their shoe size is the same!) I’ll report back later when they arrive.

Halay - you must felt your shoes in the washing machine. I keep thinking about making slippers but I do not want to spend a lot of money on something that might not be comfortable. When you purchase the lasts you are getting a general width - I have a long very, very narrow foot 9.5 4AAAA or 5AAAAA (US Size) foot. So when thinking about making my own lasts I thought why not use a pair of Keds (canvas fabric with rubber sole) and stuff them with plastic bags and wrap them in duct tape or waterprof tape. Has anyone tried this method? Even if I do not by lasts I still have to find soles - Do you buy them and then cut them to fit your shoe size? I will keep mulling it over - the slippers I wear, "Snoozies", I just throw in the washer when they are soiled and they are not very expensive. Frances, I think the instructions I have for making lasts are using your own feet which makes sense if you're making them for yourself. When I get home, I'll try to remember to find the and post the link.

Frances - all the slippers I have made, I have made without lasts. They turned out fine. I spray Plasti Dip on the bottom of them and it works great.
