I made two scarves this week using a long table with a board and my back is killing me. It will be a while before I do another one. I can't imagine doing one in the floor!

The right size table or counter is essential to the felting process. I didn’t quite realize how much until I had to use a lower table at a recent felting retreat. By the end of the day, my back was totally aching. And I am fortunate not to have back problems.

Nice rainbow and yes a little more blurring on the yellow green line. I am searching for a good chair that will put me at the right height form my table. It is great for standing but way to high for a normal chair. Naturally I want it to be a cheap chair making it much harder to find.

Nice rainbow scarf, Zed. I will also never repeat laying wool on the floor. Too old for that. Fortunately we have a long dining table which can be extended. My only conern is that I must take care that it doesn't get wet so as not to damage the wood. It also means we cannot have meals in the dining room when I am working. For this reason I make a series of scarves and bring the situation back to normal. If only I had a dedicated space for felting!

I have to use the dining table for long items. It's 3' wide and extends to 9' long. However even then it's tight for something like a gilet made in one piece, where the shrinkage is huge! Apart from my xmas card for the exchange, this has been my daily dose over the last week: - Fabric rather than felting though. flic.kr/p/pKg5e7flic.kr/p/q2tPkkHaving Flickr trouble again.

You made that, Judith?! Wow, it's really nice I don't have two tables the same height, I wish I did. A long board clamped to a table is a good idea though. I did think about it a while ago, last time I was trying to find long fold up tables. I wondered about getting MDF and the fixings to make a huge drop down bench for against the hall wall. I'll add it to my Lottery list

Hello Everyone.. My fingers have been very busy this week...Last evening I finished my exchanged "Fiber Art Post Card" and another "Fiber Art Card" I made for a friend... I tried a new technique on one of the post cards and was very please how it turned out... Smile.. More on that later.... And i have been scurrying around trying to finish 2 Art Christmas Stocking for my 2 Lovely Grand Children.. These will be the last ones unless a new arrival comes along. Three years ago I made a Christmas stocking for Chloe and it was such a big hit I got a request from my 2 sons and there wives.. I made them last year which took me months and months. They are made from Hand dyed 100% wool.. Both motif I designed myself... Ethan's was the most difficult. I did a train first which I ended up not liking so I torn it off and started over... I am hoping the designs will be the kind that can used for many years to come. feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/citrhgr5rm9xo2cmwtlk.jpgfeltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/u1vltmbjuu_oyvqoyg65.jpg

Judith - love the jacket! Wish I could be such an accomplished seamstress. I can do lots of free motion stitching but when it comes to making garments, I've never learned the skills.
Judy - cute stockings, I'm sure they will be well loved.
