Thanks, Zed and Angela! This picture will always remind me of the Felt Retreat in October at Meech Lake, Quebec.

Just finished my holiday postcard! For obvious reasons, I cannot show you a pic. I enjoyed making my first felt postcard.

Zed, I'm with you I need to do some dyeing of the coarser wools as well. I worked on scarves today for gifts.

I drew a template for a scarf! I thought I'd make one over the weekend, but I'll have to lay it out and felt it on the hall floor, the only place big enough, and I have to make sure no one's going to want to walk past while I do it all.
I'm doing a longish one for me, is there a standard size people usually make? I like to loop mine around.

The trend here seems to be long scarves, and the ones I have sold on Etsy have been the long ones, around 70 inches. I don’t use a template, just make dot markings on the rug underlay. Works fine unless you want a triangle or different shape.

I agree with Cathy. 70 " is a good length.

ok, thanks I think mine should be about 65" when felted Yesterday I laid out two rainbow pieces for felting, I used some of the textured batts I'd made on one of them, it's a shame it will be felted I think I need to add a few tufts of green to the yellow side, it may just be the photo, but it looks too rigid

I usually make long 70" (ish) scarves, but recently I've made some 45" ones and I'm very happy with them. It all depends the design and on how you want to wear them. Nice rainbow effect zed - one of your signatures. Yes, a little more merging of the green would be good. I've just finished my Xmas card. Going in the post this afternoon.

Thanks a lot I finished the scarf, and it is probably the last one I'm going to make unless I find a large table, I ache all over and I could sleep for a week!

Zed - I have put two tables together end to end - once you get the scarf laid out you can wet and rub and then roll and move to the next section. I do this when I need sit when I am working.

zed - I feel your pain! I made a huge lampshade on the floor and it was HARD work! A once only experience!! Look forward to pics of the scarf, when you've straightened your back of course!
