Hello everyone, Today we are receiving freezing rain which is suppose to change to snow tonight.. On this gloomy day I received a very nice surprise in the post... Actually I would call it "Royal Mail". Oh how I love receiving "Royal Mail"..... Big smile.. When Zed, solved my blogging problem a few weeks back I was so grateful I ask for her snail mail addy so I could send her along a wee pressie... Zed will post what I made for her.... Zed insisted in sending me a wee pressie too.... Wow, I am very excited to share with you my pressie. Lots and lots of blended batts of Many Colors... They are All Grogeous!!!!! I also received lots of other "Fibers" too..... Some glittering "Firestar"... Some "Kapok" which I will have to look up to see what kind of fiber it is... I also received lovely Pink, Copper/Bronze Yarn Embellishments.... They are all sooo very pretty... Then Zed sent me some Hand-Dyed Cotton Gauze and Muslin.... And many pieces of "Synthetic Fabric Pieces".... I recognize A silk one to be the pieces Zed used in nuno felting scraf with the butterflies and flowers on it.. I remember really liking that piece a lot. Thanks Zed from the bottom of My Heart for all the lovely fibers you sent me today.. You put a big smile on my face on this gloomy day... Frances, I've adjusted my settings so you should be able to view it. Nice to have a bit of Florida, especially as it's so dark and miserable here just now. Judy the flower is organza with a beaded centre. Judith the friend who is getting my mail mailed me the card and pen you sent. It is wonderful to be able to touch them and see the detail first hand. I think I will frame the card and pin is already on my red coat, but will travel from coats to hats I am sure. Thank you again for the beautiful gifts! Frances

Zed, such a beautiful card you received. Frances, So pleased you like the pin and are finding a use for it. Just catching up as we've been to visit our eldest son in Zurich, Switzerland. The Christmas Market was in full flow with some interesting things to see, however all hugely expensive! There was some wonderful wool and woollen items for sale but didn't buy anything. The Christmas tree in the station was hung with 7,000 Swarovski crystal stars which just twinkled so beautifully and a trip up Bahnhofstrasse was like a trip through the Milky Way. Back to reality and the washing!!!

Judy, those fibres from zed are just yummy! Kapok is from the Kapok tree, my mum used to use it as toy stuffing before synthetic fibres made an appearance - safer for toys as kapok is flammable. However it's a great fibre. When the kapok trees shed there fibres and seeds it resembles a snowstorm in the wrong season!
